Ommegang Witte

Crystal joins me for a back-to-back episode. This time we review something similar to the last beer: an American take on the Belgian White or "witbier" style from a brewery right here in New York - Ommegang! I really enjoy this style of beer and wanted to see what Crystal would think of something much more authentic than Blue Moon or Shock Top.

Iron City Beer

The Better Beer Authority reviews Iron City Beer out of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Partial Transcript: "On Tap Iron City Beer

Welcome to the Better Beer Authority. Im James Knott. Today we will be talking about Iron City Beer which has been made by the Iron City Brewing Company in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania since 1861.

Loved by people from Pittsburgh, hated by most beer connoisseurs, this beer is probably most notable for its strong regional ties to Western Pennsylvania. This is an American-style lager with 4.5 % alcohol by volume and 140 calories per 12-ounce bottle.

Saranac Irish Stout

Because the Murphy's Irish Red was so bad Henry and I absolutely had to review another beer if nothing else than to get that taste out of our mouths!

Genesse Bock

Reviewed by: Chad & Friend's Beer Reviews

This is quite a special review for a few reasons: 1) Henry joins me. 2) This beer was a gift to both of us from Kevin at http://thefoaminghead.com and 3) This is a New York-brewed beer.

Dogfish Head Pangaea

This week we attempt to bring harmony to a fractured world with Dogfish Head Brewery's Pangaea. A beer made from ingredients from every continent on the planet .. even Antarctica. We also find out that Stephen doesn't like punk music, and that can't decide how he feels about Belgian Tripels.

Bud Select and Select 55

Just bought some Bud Select and Bud Select 55, thought I'd post a comparison of them with MGD 64 and Michelob Ultra. I drank the 6 pack of Select 55, then the 6 pack of Select, and still didn't have a buzz. That means either one is a decent choice if you want to have a few beers and need to drive home.

Victory Baltic Thunder

This week the New Brew Crew is sampling Victory Brewing Company's Baltic Thunder Porter. In last week's blog post we said we were drinking Alskan Brewing Company's Baltic Porter for this week's episode. Unfortunately, the liquor store we got the beer from, who said it was in stock, was mistaken. Victory Brewing to the rescue! We're pairing Victory's Baltic Thunder with dark chocolate and cheesecake. Baltic Thunder is widely available, so feel free to drink along with us.
